“We are all realizing that this is an unprecedented time for everyone and people are trying to cope” Dr. Brian said. “It’s not like a snowstorm or hurricane. In those situations we can prepare and when know when it’s coming and when it should be ending. In this situation, we have situations of uncertainness and as humans, that is not a comfortable thing. We have people turning to unhealthy options to cope with this like using drugs and alcohol. In fact, in Detroit Lakes, they saw a 38 percent increase in sales … People keep saying ‘when will it end’ and we just don’t know.”
