As fears over the COVID-19 virus mount, extreme measures are being taken

Locally, Hawley High School Principal Kelly Anderson sent out this statement:
“Good morning, Hawley Public School will be closed Wednesday, March 18 – Friday, March 27, 2020 per the directive of the state.
BASE will be available for students whose parents/guardians work in the health-care field, including first responders. We are also working on a meal plan for students.
Our staff will be preparing for e-learning. More information will be provided throughout the week as we get clarification on specifics and work out the details.
Thank you for your patience as this is uncharted territory for us and we want to ensure that we are doing all we can to both keep our students and staff safe while providing quality education.
