It was a beautiful, but breezy day in Hawley last Thursday when the call came in of a crash at the Hawley Airport. A Good Samaritan saw the crash and ran out to help. He dragged the victim away from the crash, but it was too late for the pilot. The pilot Bradley Gibb, 69, of Vergas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hawley Rescue (HERT) was one of the first crews on scene and checked over the Good Samaritan.
The Hawley Fire Department quickly put out the fire on the small “kit-style” one-man helicopter.
