Helping Hawley Become a Suicide Safer Community
Mental health partner agencies work diligently to promote wellness, awareness and prevention statewide. Locally, the White Earth Mental Health Mobile Crisis Program, White Earth Home Health, Minnesota Department of Health and REACH continue to partner, bringing suicide prevention and intervention trainings to Hawley community members and neighboring mental health agencies. Both safeTALK (suicide alertness for everyone) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) were recently held at Hawley.

ASIST participants left to right: Lisa Iverson, CCRI; Ron Siedschlag, HERT; Del Nasri, Lakeland Mental Health; Tanya Carter, MDH and ASIST Facilitator; Renee Lerfald, CAP, LP; Lainie Fenske, Hawley community member and Hawley Elementary School Paraprofessional; Dan Kreager, HERT; Mary Jane Westra, Lakeland Mental Health; Janessa Hoban, White Earth Home Health and ASIST Facilitator; and Abby Landmark, Blue Sky.
