Nuggets win big at home

Noah Glad
“The game began with a great kickoff by Trayton Cossette as United North Central started the game’s first possession at their own 36-yard line. The Warriors begain with a pair of running plays that moved the chains. As United North Central crossed midfield, however, Hawley’s defense tightened up significantly. The Nuggets pushed the Warriors backwards six yards over the next three plays and United North Central eventually punted the ball away. Many Nuggets got in on plays defensively including Cole Sunde, Derian Gerdes, Karter Kopacek, T.J. Hines, and Jacob Vetter. Trayton Cossette picked up 16 yards on the punt return to give Hawley their first possession at their own 40-yard line with 9:42 on the first quarter clock. The Nugget offense started by throwing the football on four straight plays. Jacob Vetter connected with Chase Libak, Noah Glad and Trayton Cossette to help move the football to the United North Central 30-yard line. Hawley then handed the ball off to running back Trayton Cossette. Cossette used a burst of speed and great downfield vision to race into the endzone for the game’s first points. Mason Klevgaard split the uprights on the PAT to give Hawley an early 7-0 lead.”
